I am reaching out to you to understand how should I legally file a case against OLA for unethical/unsafe customer service, mental harassment and humiliation they made me go through for over 2 months. I happened to take a ride with them in protected Nov/dec, the estimated and valid distance and travel time for this ride (as mentioned in their app and Google maps) was around protected kms and 1 hour protected mins. Their driver, on the pretext of taking me faster to the destination, took me from an isolated route (protected kms) with a longer travel duration (protected minutes extra) and made me pay three toll tax: including one return toll tax as well (instead of one). Since I didnt know the route I completely trusted driver and happened to undergo the nightmare of this incidence. Since he took me from such isolated routes, where I have never been, due to Ola drivers' reputation of molesting/fighting with solo female passengers, I didnt have courage to even ask him whether he was following the correct route or not. At his mercy, finally I reached the destination. To my sheer shock, when I looked at Ola bill, instead of projected INR protected it mentioned INR protected+ (which included a default insurance that Ola forcefully enabled in its app). In addition to this, I had already paid toll tax amounting to INR protected+. I raised my concerns to Ola team the same day, however instead of understanding the concern they came up with irrelevant explanations (as in enclosed mails), lies (they have sacked the driver which upon probing changed to a verbal warning was given to driver) and mental harassment (through multiple calls/messages every day). In my written and verbal communications with them, I had at multiple times cited, I wouldn't use their services unless they come up with a solution to my plight however to no avail. I am shocked to see their response on such a grave grievance risking female passengers safety and security. I fail to understand, why do they wait for a passenger to get raped or molested for taking any actions. Considering, I have been mentally harassed every day with scores of calls from Ola and their threats to decrease my CIBIL score, I have decided to raise a formal complaint against them. I expect compensation from them for the continued harassment they are making me go through and unsafe customer policies. Please suggest how do I take this up legally and seek compensation from OLA. I wish that my consumer complaint will get resolved soon.
