I had booked two-way flight from Spicejet to go to Dharamshala (with my wife) from Bangalore via Delhi. While coming back, Dharamshala to Delhi flight was cancelled and Delhi to Bangalore flight was rescheduled. Spicejet crew at airport had promised me I will get full refund for the flight booked from Dharamshala to Delhi. As per SpiceJet this is the split of fare - protectedth Aug - protectedth Aug BLR - DEL protected DHM - DEL protected DEL- DHM protected DEL- BLR protected Taxes protected Taxes protected Total protected TotaL protected Grand Total protected *above fare is for two people This is incorrect and Spicejet is doing this to give me lesser refund. I dont have the screenshot, but the amount paid for DHM-DEL was around 9K. This is evident from below discrepancies - BLR-DEL is protected but DEL-BLR is protected - Generally for common route fares become cheaper for later dates. Here is has increased more than twice. DEL-DHM - protected but DHM-DEL is protected - Here the fare has reduced by more than half. Fare for both sides have changed in company's favour. I have also checked fare for next 1 year for DHM-DEL, it is mostly above 5K per person. Other problem is that they are not including taxes as part of refund. I wish that my consumer complaint will get resolved soon.
