Clean drinking water is one of the most basic needs for better health and life. Unfortunately, clean water these days is scarce and hard to get. Electronic Appliance companies have developed various filters and other water filtration systems. There are a lot of companies in the markets that make these kinds of appliances. One of them is Kent. Kent is popular for its RO (Reverse Osmosis) water filtration system it is a well -known name in the market. This company does a lot of advertising for its products.
Mr. Gishan Khan bought a Kent Ro water purifier for his home but to his despair, his water filter didn’t work for long he got his purifier repaired 8 times still his appliance got broken in a span of few days. A person can live without food for a few days but he cannot live without water for too long. Instead of resolving the issue and cooperating with the issue. The local dealer threatened him and was not ready to help him and when Mr. Khan tried to raise the issue on social media the company didn’t acknowledge his posts and tweets and turned a deaf ear on his complaints.
The service engineers gave stupid reasons such as the position of the placement of the water purifier and blamed the quality of water supply in his area. He also mentioned in his complaint with us that someone from the head office gave him the promise for replacement of his faulty water purifier but no such services were provided. For a basic water purifier, the company harassed the customer.
Mr. Khan filed his complaint with us and in his complaint he mentioned the details of his complaint along with that he also uploaded the related documents for his complaint. As soon as he completed his complaint an official intimation to Kent RO Systems was sent form our servers which had the complaint details of his complaint and along with that his contact details were also shared. Despite this, there was no response from the company even after 2 days. This meant that Mr. Khan upgraded his plan and an advocate from our expert legal team was appointed on his complaint.
Soon a legal notice was drafted and sent to the Kent which had all his issues mentioned and on top of that, it also contained claims for mental harassment and legal charges the notice was prepared to take all the laws and provisions in mind. We received a reply for the same in 15 days and the company held its local dealer responsible for the deficiency in the services and offered to give a replacement and not just a replacement the company offered a better model water purifier.
The same was accepted by Mr. Khan and an agreement was reached between all the parties involved. Consumer Law is getting stronger day by day and the changes introduced in the newly introduced Consumer Protection Bill 2019 will only make consumer justice more accessible to everyone.
